Reminiscing/Buddy Holly
Item #CRL57426794 (from the back of the album)

"Does a person ever capture the wind...the world...just the right mood...a spirit? Many have tried and failed...but we know of one young man who just about did all of these things...our son, Buddy Holly.

Since Buddy's physical departure from our world...we as his parents...have learned to know and to love all of the young folks who write to tell us just how very important Buddy was (and still is) to their lives and to their happiness. They have told us that Buddy...sometimes shy, sometimes quiet, sometimes little boy...sometimes very much all man...was somehow the total of young ideas and young hearts.

Buddy was young and knew what he wanted out of life...but, like all youngsters, he had his times of anxiety as to how to go about this game of life. Many people know the sad story of the abrupt change of plans for Buddy. Many now try to copy his sound and his ideas. We certainly miss him and know that you do too. However, we find it very refreshing to think about the wonderful things he enoyed and always shared with us...his joy and excitement in his world of music.

We have gone through our belongings...his wife, Maria, added memories from her collection...Coral Records brought along some tapes and all were placed in the hands of Norman Petty, who recorded Buddy's musical life. Norman added some tapes from his collection, and to all is added the young, exciting sound of a musical group called the Fireballs. We feel that the combination, sound-wise, is a happy one! We feel Buddy would have been proud of this album.

We...and all those who have been a part of Buddy's career...thank you for your wonderful devotion to our son and his music and we hope that you will find many happy hours of memories and listening pleasure in this collection of songs..."
