| Biography: "Veteran blues singer and reigning queen of Chicago Blues, Koko Taylor has an earthshakingly powerful voice that can swoop from a raspy low groan to gritty, paint-peeling high notes with amazing power. She has often been paired with powerful and distinctive guitar players such as Buddy Guy and Lonnie Brooks over the years, but her hard-rocking, visceral style is more than a match for any artist whom she shares the stage or recording studio with. Born in Memphis, Tenn., Taylor moved to Chicago at age 18 and eventually fell in with songwriter extrodinaire Willie Dixon, who became her mentor of sorts. Her 1966 recording of his "Wang Dang Doodle" was the last charting song for Chess Records. She has recorded steadily over the years, most consistently for Alligator Records. Live, she is an arresting presence, stalking the stage in sequined dresses sporting a mouth full of gleaming gold caps." Includes "Wang Dang Doodle."

| "Little Milton is one of the most versatile and underappreciated of the bluesmen who migrated from Mississippi to Chicago. He is also one of the blues' best performers who aided in the music's evolution from rough-and-ready jump bands tunes to the more elegant, though no less urgent, soul-blues sound." Still covered with shrink wrap but opened.

| Since his recording debut in 1968, Paul Geremia has been one of the best white acoustic bluesmen working, for his expressive singing as well as his dexterous playing. A native of Rhode Island, he originally came to blues by way of the 1960s folk boom, but unlike a lot of other players on that scene, he never went electric. Corner cut and light ring wear.

| Texas-born singer Z.Z. Hill managed to resuscitate both his own semi-flagging career and the entire genre at large when he signed on at Jackson, Mississippi's Malaco Records in 1980 and began growling his way through some of the most uncompromising blues to be unleashed on black radio stations in many a moon. His impressive 1982 Malaco album Down Home Blues remained on Billboard's soul album charts for nearly two years, an extraordinary run for such a blatantly bluesy LP. His songs "Down Home Blues" and "Somebody Else Is Steppin' In" have graduated into the ranks of legitimate blues standards (and there haven't been many of those come along over the last couple of decades). From 1980 until 1984, when he died suddenly of a heart attack, Z.Z. bravely led a personal back-to-the-blues campaign that doubtless helped to fuel the current contemporary blues boom.
